Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition 1.0.3 is a third party application that provides additional functionality to OS X system and enjoys a popularity among Mac users. However, instead of installing it by dragging its icon to the Application folder, uninstalling Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition 1.0.3 may need you to do more than a simple drag. How do I obtain DLC?
All available DLC for Hitman: Absolution can be purchased from the Steam Store via this link:
You can choose between purchasing individual pieces of DLC and purchasing them all in a single bundle pack, the Hitman Absolution DLC Collection.
To purchase your chosen DLC, follow the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: If you own Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition you will already have access to the additional Hitman Absolution DLC Collection content as well as Hitman: Sniper Challenge, a documentary and an artbook. The last three items are only available as part of Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition and cannot be purchased separately. For more information, see What is included in Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition?.
How do I access DLC?
Once purchased, DLC will automatically be enabled in your copy of Hitman: Absolution.
What is included in Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition?
If you have purchased the Elite Edition, you will have access to additional content, including DLC packs and bonus features.
Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition includes the base game Hitman: Absolution and the following additional content:
- Hitman: Sniper Challenge
- The Agency Gun Pack
- The Suit and Gun Collection
- A one-hour 'Making Of' documentary
- A 72-page artbook, including concept art and storyboards, with a foreword by the game director, Tore Blystad

How do I access the additional content included in the Elite Edition?
The guns and disguises included in the Agency Gun Pack and Suit and Gun Collection are included in the game by default, and can be used in Contracts mode.
The other additional content can be accessed as described below.
To access Hitman: Sniper Challenge:
From the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window, select the Extras tab.
Select Hitman: Sniper Challenge.
Click the Play button. A dialog will inform you that the application has to be relaunched in order for your new settings to take effect. Click the Relaunch button.
When the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window appears again, click the Play button to launch the game. Hitman: Sniper Challenge will now start.
When you launch Hitman: Sniper Challenge for the first time, the Agency Kazo TRG sniper rifle will be unlocked for use in the base game, Hitman: Absolution.To access the 'Making Of' documentary and artbook:
From the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window, select the Extras tab.
Click the View Extra Content button.
A new Finder window will open showing the extra content.
Does Hitman: Absolution support achievements?
Yes, achievements are supported by Hitman: Absolution.
If you are signed in to Steam, your achievements will be visible to you in-game and also to other players through the Steam application.
I can't play the latest version of Hitman: Absolution on my current version of macOS. Can I still play the previous version of the game?
Version 1.1 of Hitman: Absolution requires macOS 10.11.6 or later. If you do not have this version, and do not wish to upgrade macOS, you can still download and play the previous version of the game. To do so, follow these steps:
If it is not already running, open the Steam application.
Select the Library tab.
In the library, right-click on Hitman: Absolution in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Properties.
The Properties window will appear. Select the Betas tab.
From the drop-down menu, select mac_retail_101. Click the Close button.
The selected version of Hitman: Absolution will now download and install.
Once installed, you will be able to play and run Hitman: Absolution. However, it will not include any of the changes from the latest version of the game, and the game will no longer update automatically.I have an older version of Hitman: Absolution installed, but it does not work on mac OS 10.11.6. How do I install the most recent version of the game?
If you have an older verison of Hitman: Absolution installed, but have updated macOS to version 10.11.6 or later, you will need to install the latest version of the game. To do so, follow these steps:
If it is not already running, open the Steam application.
Select the Library tab.
In the library, right-click on Hitman: Absolution in the list of games on the left-hand side of the window. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Properties.
The Properties window will appear. Select the Betas tab.
From the drop-down menu, select NONE - Opt out of all beta programs. Click the Close button.
The selected version of Hitman: Absolution will now download and install. Once installed, you will be able to play and run Hitman: Absolution.
How do I use the benchmark test?
The benchmark test helps you determine Hitman: Absolution's performance on your Mac under the game's current graphics settings.
To start the benchmark test, select Start Benchmark from the Options menu (Main Menu → Options).
Once the test has finished, a dialog will appear displaying the minimum, maximum and average FPS (frames per second) that the game ran at during the test. The higher the FPS, the better the game's performance.
To end the benchmark test and return to the Main Menu, select OK.
To increase the FPS, adjust your graphical options via the Video tab in the pre-game Options window or within the game under Options → Display and Options → Graphics, accessible from the Main Menu.
Lowering the graphics settings is likely to increase the FPS at which the game runs, but reduce the visual quality. Use the settings to find a balance between performance and appearance.

Can I play Hitman: Absolution with a gamepad?
Yes.

Once we have this information, a gamepad support file will be created and emailed to you.

How do I use an Xbox 360-compatible controller with Hitman: Absolution?
The following Xbox 360-compatible controllers require a software driver in order to work:

Are there any gamepads that are recognized but unsupported?
Yes.
The following gamepads will be recognized by the game but do not have enough buttons or analog controls to support all the possible in-game controls, meaning some in-game tasks will require the keyboard or mouse:

How do I switch my pad to the correct mode?
Some gamepads support both DirectInput and XInput modes. These gamepads can be identified by a switch on them that has two options, “D” (DirectInput) and “X Clock widgets for mac. ” (XInput).
To play Hitman: Absolution a gamepad must be supported and set to DirectInput mode.
Currently supported devices that have this switch are:
- Logitech F310
- Logitech F510
- Logitech F710
If your gamepad has the switch and is not on this list, you will not be able to use it to play Hitman: Absolution without a pad support file. To obtain one, email padsupport@feralinteractive.com and our support team will reply to you with a request for information about your device. Once we have this information, we can usually create a gamepad support file and email it to you.To switch the gamepad to DirectInput mode, follow these instructions:
If the Hitman: Absolution application is running, close it.
Unplug the gamepad (or wireless receiver, if the gamepad is wireless).
Turn the switch on the pad to “D”.
Plug the pad or wireless receiver back in.
Restart the Hitman: Absolution application.
You will now be able to play Hitman: Absolution with the gamepad.
My short keyboard does not have certain keys. How can I use the game commands that are mapped to them?
Short Apple keyboards do not have Home (↖), End (↘), Page Up (⇞), Page Down (⇟) or Delete (⌦) keys.
In order to use game commands that are mapped to these keys, you will need to use the Function (fn) key as follows:
Home (↖) = Function (fn) key + Left Arrow (◀) key
End (↘) = Function (fn) key + Right Arrow (▶) key
Page Up (⇞) = Function (fn) key + Up Arrow (▲) key
Page Down (⇟) = Function (fn) key + Down Arrow (▼) key
Delete (⌦) = Function (fn) key + Backspace (←) key
How do I stop the dock, notifications and the desktop cursor from appearing while I'm playing Hitman: Absolution?
The dock or notifications may occasionally appear while you are playing Hitman: Absolution, or the desktop cursor may replace the game cursor. This can disrupt a game.

You can prevent them from occurring by checking the Hide the Dock (disables notifications) checkbox in the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window. To do so, follow these steps:
From the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window, select the Advanced tab.
Check the Hide the Dock (disables notifications) checkbox.
Is Hitman: Absolution optimized for Retina displays?
Yes.
If you have a Retina display, you will be able to take advantage of the extra pixels by running Hitman: Absolution in native resolution. This means that the game will display one pixel for every pixel on your display.
To do this, follow these instructions:
From the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window, select the Video tab.
Select the largest resolution from the Resolution drop-down menu to play the game in native Retina resolution.
Click the Play button. The game will start in native Retina resolution.
NOTE: In many cases, increasing your game's resolution will impact upon its performance. For tips on improving performance, read the Performance Tips point in the ReadMe. For information on how video settings affect performance in Mac games, read our Guide to video settings.
Can I run Hitman: Absolution in windowed mode?
Yes.
To run Hitman: Absolution in windowed mode, follow these instructions:
From the Hitman: Absolution pre-game Options window, select the Video tab.
Check the Run in a window checkbox.
Click the Play button. The game will start in windowed mode.
NOTE: Enabling windowed mode may decrease the game's performance.
Where are my saved games stored?
Your saved games are stored in your game's preferences folder.
To open this folder, click the Open Preferences Folder button in the Info/About tab of the pre-game Options window.
You can also navigate to the preferences folder manually. It is stored in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Library/Application Support folder (where the '~' symbol refers to your home directory).
By default, the Library folder is hidden from your Finder. To open it, follow these instructions:
Open the Finder.
Open the Go menu from the main toolbar.
Hold down the Alt (⌥) key. The Library option will appear.
Click on the Library option. The Library folder will open in your Finder.
When I press the Function keys (F1-F19) nothing happens. How do I use the Function keys?
By default, Mac OS X uses the F keys to control items such as volume and brightness. To use an F key for a game command hold down the fn key, then press the F key you wish to use.
To automatically enable the F keys, follow these steps:
Open System Preferences ( Menu → System Preferences).
Click on Keyboard or Keyboard and Mouse (depending on the version of Mac OS X you are running).
Select the Keyboard tab.
Check the Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys checkbox.
The F keys will now work without using the fn key.
Can I play this game on a case-sensitive file system?
No. Hitman: Absolution has been tested with the basic formatting option for Mac OS X, which is HFS+. This system is not case-sensitive and identifies files by name without checking capitalization.
The capitalization of filenames is not consistent throughout the game. While this will not always prevent the game from running on case-sensitive file systems, it may lead to crashes and other unpredictable behaviour.
If you have to run a case-sensitive setup and you experience problems with Hitman: Absolution, please install the game on a standard formatted partition or read/write disk image. In most cases this will allow you to play the game on your machine.
Hitman: Absolution runs slowly on my computer. Is there anything I can do to increase the speed?
There are several factors which have an impact on the speed at which Hitman: Absolution runs. Please see the Hitman: Absolution Performance Tips section in the ReadMe for ways to increase the speed at which the game runs on your computer.
How do I take screenshots in Hitman: Absolution?
To take screenshots while playing Hitman: Absolution you should use the following key command:
Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + P
When you press all three keys at once, a single image of the on-screen contents will be saved in the Feral Interactive folder in your computer's ~/Pictures folder (the '~' symbol refers to your home directory).
The JPEG image contains metadata in a string in the following format.
GameName/Version Number (OS Version; CPU Speed; Installed RAM; Video RAM; Current Graphics Card)
For example in Hitman: Absolution the string might look a little like this:
Hitman: Absolution/1.0 (macOS 10.14.4; 3.0; 8.0; 4.0; AMD Radeon R9 M395X)
This information can be easily removed by exporting the screenshot into a different format using Preview or another image editing tool.
NOTE: None of the metadata stored can be used to identify the user.
